The IAF cuts, coinciding with high levels of acute food insecurity (affecting nearly half of Haiti's 11 million people) and ongoing gang violence, have created a humanitarian crisis. The loss of seed loans and agricultural support particularly harms farmers during planting season, worsening malnutrition and potentially causing deaths. This action also led to 230 job losses and 17 organizations laying off their entire staff.
